What are the Google Breakfast Briefings?

Those are events held every last Friday of every month from 8am till 9am, these events are hosted at Google’s main headquarter in Dublin 2. It is a great networking opportunity for all who is working in online marketing, search engine marketing, search engine optimisation and web design. These events provide insight into the current and future online marketing landscape, future online marketing trends, Google products for marketing. Moreover, if you have any topic related issue, you can get help to resolve it.

What topics are discussed?

During these events Google specialists cover topics about Google AdWords, Google Analytics, YouTube, Mobile Advertising, website usability, and current best practices.

Last time the following topics were discussed:

  • App monetisation
  • Advanced audience advertising
  • Mobile Advertising
  • Mobile Website Usability

Are the Google Breakfast Briefings useful?

I attended only two events so far. The subjects were audience advertising and mobile advertising. I personally found it very useful, as during these events real statistic and insights were presented. Moreover, there were discussed real life cases and best practices from top Irish and international companies to showcase what has worked, and what hasn’t.

How do I enrol?

You can email breakfastbriefings@google.com to be added to their email list. Google sends out invitations a few days before each event. You register for individual events via the link in the email.

Some interesting facts

  • Recently the event announced its 10,000th visitor.
  • Google Breakfast Briefings events were founded by our DCU graduate Sarah O’Neill.
  • These events are free of charge. Having an AdWords account with particular budget is not a must, anyone is welcomed to attend.
